Comparison of Electronic Seachart Systems
As an independent solution provider for navigation and communication, we strive to offer the best available product to our customers. Before taking a product into our portfolio we check for a number of important criteria, including reliability, worldwide availability of spare parts and trained service engineers, and an ideal price / performance ratio throughout the product life cycle. The products we have selected have to prove themselves under the tough conditions on the vessels and are measured against the criteria day to day.
We also support theoretic comparative studies which support us in our choice. Our student trainee Artur Buxbaum, studying at the Leer navigation school, is writing his bachelor thesis ’A comparison of ECDIS systems – analysis of technology and usability as criteria for the system choice for the ship supplying company PRO NAUTAS B.V. GmbH’ comparing different electronic seachart systems. The thesis will be completed by 15th September 2010.
