Team Lead Connectivity Projects

PRO NAUTAS, a global distributor and service provider of maritime navigation, communication, connectivity and IT solutions is looking for qualified technical individuals for our Singapore office. We operate globally through our network of offices and authorised partners world-wide. Our customers in the marine & offshore industry are wide ranging and include ship owners, ship operators, ship managers, as well as shipyards and engineering companies. We pride ourselves in providing round-the-clock quality and reliable support to all our valued customers. Our Singapore office is currently looking for a Team Leader for Connectivity Projects. 

As a Team Lead for our connectivity projects you represent Pro Nautas at our customer site, ie a ship and are our single point of contact for the Master of the ship. You are responsible for our team on board as well as for the successful accomplishment of the projects. You will be the main liaison person to ensure any technical problems are communicated, analysed and resolved during the installation or network set-up. 

The tasks are challenging and yet very rewarding as your success translates to a high customer satisfaction. Ships operate world-wide round the clock and are in and out of ports relatively quickly, meaning a task will have to be well planned for completion in a pre-defined timeframe. Due to the nature of our business, you would be required to travel regularly in the Asia and Middle East region, and occasionally to other parts of the world too. 

Your responsibilities:

  • Single point of contact for the customer during installation, set-up and migration process 
  • Leadership of the specialist team during attendances 
  • Provide server back-up of the existing system
  • Replace and install server hardware 
  • Migrate back-up into the new server environment 
  • Ensure that all clients are functional
  • Network / software performance checks

Your profile:

  • Preferably Nitec in Electronics, Computer Networking & Communications or a Diploma in Engineering (Computer Network and Systems) 
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience with system administration, server maintenance, troubleshooting and networking 
  • Basic electrical knowledge and skills 
  • Hardware enthusiast 
  • Knowledge of the ship’s navigation and communication equipment is appreciated 
  • Flexible and able to work under time constraints 
  • Structured working style 
  • Possesses managerial and leadership skills 
  • Willing to travel for both short and occasionally extended periods of time
